Ana Tamez
Founder/President
"I am the Founder/President of Ana's Safe Haven Rescue. I began fostering for a local shelter in McAllen, TX back in 2005. My love for animals began when I first adopted Jackie and Maggie in 2004. I fostered for many rescues before I decided to start Ana's Safe Haven Rescue in 2018. I saw the great need to save so many abandoned and discarded animals roaming the streets of the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas. I knew I could make a difference. And with the help of many, we have saved countless lives. Lives that would either have ended up in a high kill shelter or would have died alone and hungry in the streets of the RGV. Please help us make a difference!!"
Cecilia Garza
Rio Grande Valley Coordinator "Hello, my name is Cecilia Garza from San Benito, TX. I started fostering for Ana's Safe Haven in September 2019. I have always had a big heart for animals however I loved cats more till the day I decided to adopt a dog named Charlie. He changed my heart for dogs so I decided to help other dogs by fostering which led to my foster fail of Millie. As a coordinator I have helped with vet visits, monthly transports, vaccines, etc. I am thankful to be part of Ana's Safe Haven Rescue team who have found amazing homes for our rescue dogs." |
Stephanie Kissell San Antonio Coordinator "Hello my name is Stephanie Kissel. I have always had a heart for animals. I began fostering for ASHR about 2 years ago. As San Antonio coordinator I assist in meeting transport for pups arriving to San Antonio from the Rio Grand Valley Area, finding foster families, scheduling vaccines, spays and neuters, microchips for our pups and getting them ready for their forever families. |
Carrie Williams Michigan Adoptions Coordinator “ Hi! I love fostering and helping find all the dogs wonderful life-long families. I got into fostering when I decided to foster a pup I was in love and then adopted her myself. I have continued this journey for sometime now and find it so rewarding and love playing an important role in all these animals' lives. I’m the Michigan adoption coordinator for ASHR. My role is to make sure that everyone has everything they need to be ready for their pups to arrive and before they go to their forever homes. I am also here to help with any questions along the way that anyone may have." |
Tracy Reuss
Michigan Medical Coordinator " I am a foster mom for 1-3 dogs and/or puppies each month. I meet with the transport, collect fecals and process to ensure our dogs do not have any intestinal worms, deworm as needed. I collect donated dog food and distribute as needed. If any of our dogs need vetting while waiting for their forever home, I work with other fosters to get the needed appointments. All volunteer activities or contributions help us save lives. Foster, volunteer or donate! Together we can make a difference!" |
